The Bay is ready to see San Francisco make some moves that puts the 49ers right back into NFC West and Super Bowl contention.
After a quiet free agency period, the 2025 NFL draft represents the perfect opportunity to get that accomplished and for the franchise to reward the fan base’s patience.
In Warren Sharp’s examination of NFL teams’ draft capital, San Francisco checks in right among the league leaders. The 49ers check in at No. 6 in Sharp’s NFL draft capital rankings heading into the 2025 NFL draft.
Only Cleveland, Jacksonville, Tennessee, New England and the New York Giants earned higher NFL draft capital rankings. The 49ers garnered a Sharp Football Total Draft Value of 78.
As Sharp notes, it’s the most draft capital for the 49ers dating back to 2019. San Francisco has as much draft capital to work with this year as 2022 and 2023 combined.
The 49ers are the only team to own eight picks in the top 160 overall. San Francisco possesses 11 draft picks in total, including the No. 11 overall selection and four inside the top 100 picks.
After the 49ers opted to move on from a series of productive veterans during the free agency season, the pressure is on to take advantage of this draft capital.
