Links: Romancing the Vote, Yarn, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Welcome back to Wednesday Links, everybody!

I love hearing about all of your yummy fall foods. I do have to make a point to pick up some candy corn soon. I am an unabashed candy corn and candy pumpkin lover. How do you feel about Halloween candy? Any distinct favorites?

For me, fall means lots of dips and soups. I love a soup or a molten lava hot dip with a crunchy little chip. Ugh, so good! And now I’m hungry.

Tara: Kris and I teamed up with Laura Green from the Sapphic Book Review podcast to talk about the implications of Project 2025 on access to LGBTQ fiction, state-level challenges, and we include steps that anyone can take, even if they don’t live in the US.

Sarah: SO many people on Twitter, BluSky, and elsewhere have been talking about how much they enjoyed the chemistry and the potent visual nostalgia of Veronica Mars and Seth Cohen in a rom com series – especially Cohen, I mean, Adam Brody as the lead. I was extremely excited to make this list of romances that should fulfill any additional yearning for cross-cultural or interfaith romances for the NYT. (And if you watched Nobody Wants This I’d love to hear what you thought!)

Lauren sent us this link for trope yarn and knitting kits.

Lauren: I found these knitting kits based on romance novels! You can pick your colorway based on your…theme? Trope? I immediately thought of the rest of the Smart Bitches when I saw it.

Romancing the Vote was featured on a list of Democracy Heroes! Sometimes I see or read things that remind me of how great this community is.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!
