The 2025 NFL draft is one week away, and some veteran players are feeling the heat with the uncertainty on the horizon. One of those players is Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis.
After entering the 2024 season as the starter, he failed to seize that role and has since seemed to fall out of favor with the organization. While the front office and staff have stated many times throughout the offseason that he will be back to compete for the starting job, will that be a reality if the Titans follow through and select Cam Ward No. 1 overall?
Levis has been erratic and turnover-prone in his young career, but he has shown tremendous toughness and was forced to play behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league last season. He has potential, but his future doesn’t appear to be in Nashville.
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report took a look at the quarterback landscape as we sit leading into the draft, and one of the quarterbacks he took a look at was Levis. Here is what he said:

Late in March, Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker said the franchise hadn’t had any trade discussions around Levis and that the third-year quarterback “has a chance to compete for a starting job.”
That’s about what you would expect him to say, but even if true, it could change based on how things play out with Rodgers, Cousins, Carr, and on draft weekend.
Where He Will Land: Titans
The team drafts Cam Ward first overall and keeps Levis around to work with the rookie.
Where He Should Land: Titans
That’s the right thing to do when you consider even the top picks are rolls of the dice, and Levis costs just $2.6 million.
The Titans could indeed do this and keep Levis around as the backup to Ward or even compete during training camp, but why then sign two veterans to be in the room? Tennessee added both Tim Boyle and Brandon Allen during the offseason to give the quarterback room with a veteran presence.
Last offseason, the Titans entered training camp with only three quarterbacks: Malik Willis, Mason Rudolph, and Levis. They then opened the season with only Levis and Rudolph on the roster after trading Willis to Green Bay.
By keeping all four quarterbacks in training camp, if they do select Ward, it would seem like a change in philosophy for Callahan entering his second camp, and a change that could pay off.
