Oren Alexander faces another rape allegation

The sexual assault lawsuits against Oren Alexander keep piling up. A woman filed a civil suit in Colorado this week, alleging that the New York real estate broker and his twin brother Alon drugged and raped her in 2017 when she was 17 years old. It’s the fifth known civil suit against one or more of three Alexander brothers.

Maylen Gehret claims that she met the brothers in Aspen, Colorado, at the Winter X Games. She said that she and an unnamed friend — referred to as Witness One — were lured to a hotel room by the two brothers with promises of a party.

Gehret said that Alon Alexander raped her in the bathroom and forced her to shower while Oren ripped the clothes off her friend and attempted to rape her before she escaped. The complaint states that Alon made advances on a third woman — Witness Two — who was passed out in the hotel room, but Gehret packed her things and left with Witness Two.

The alleged incident has haunting similarities to those in the web of criminal and civil lawsuits that have been filed since March against Oren, Alon and older brother Tal Alexander, who was a broker with Oren at Douglas Elliman and later at Official Partners.

Two women, Rebecca Mandel and Kate Whiteman, filed suits against Oren and Alon in March. A third woman, Angelica Parker, sued all three brothers soon after.

In December, things took a dramatic turn when the three brothers were arrested in Miami on state and federal charges of criminal sex trafficking. One of the alleged victims in the federal indictment filed a civil suit after the arrests.

The brothers and their attorneys have repeatedly denied the sexual assault allegations and have characterized the civil suits as a shakedown.

The brothers, currently being held in a federal penitentiary, are seeking release on the state and federal charges. But prosecutors seek to keep them behind bars, claiming they’re a flight risk given their wealth and international connections.

While the twins, Alon and Oren, were granted a $3 million bond on state charges, the circuit judge in the case paused their release until the bond on federal charges was determined.

At a federal hearing on Friday morning, Alon was denied bond and Oren’s hearing was rescheduled for Jan. 7. Tal Alexander was previously denied federal bond, but he has asked the court to reconsider.

Oren and Tal Alexander were once superstar real estate brokers in Miami and New York City, having represented many ultrawealthy and celebrity clients. But the accusations and arrests have caused their brokerage Official Partners to shutter.

Side, the white-label brokerage that Official Partners was affiliated with, has sued Oren, Tal and Official Partners for allegedly defaulting on a $4.6 million promissory note by disassociating their real estate licenses. The brothers claim that Side manufactured the event of default by disassociating their licenses and refusing to reinstate them.

In the wake of the arrests, Side filed a preliminary injunction against Tal and Oren, seeking to prevent them from moving or liquidating the collateral on the loan.

Additionally, the Department of Justice has requested information from Douglas Elliman — where Oren and Tal built their careers — about their time at the brokerage.
