Recap: OKC Blue loses at free-throw line to Stockton Kings in 105-104 OT loss


The G League’s OKC Blue dropped a heartbreak with a 105-104 overtime loss to the Stockton Kings on Friday. The defeat bumped OKC’s record to 16-14 on the season.

The Blue had a slow start with a 25-16 deficit after the first quarter. They snapped out of it with a 29-13 run in the second frame. OKC went into halftime with a 45-38 lead. After a low-scoring first half, both teams had loud scoring numbers in the second half.

The Blue entered the fourth quarter with a 76-72 lead. Both teams went back and forth in the final frame. After Skal Labrissiere gave Stockton a 98-96 lead with 30 seconds left, Dillon Jones forced overtime when he went to the cup for the game-tying bucket. In a race to seven points, Jon Elmore won it for the Kings at the free-throw line with two makes.

The Blue shot 38% from the field and went 9-of-29 (31%) from 3. They went 14-of-17 on free throws. They had 16 assists on 34 baskets. Four Blue players scored double-digit points.

Meanwhile, the Kings shot 39% from the field and went 14-of-38 (36.8%) from 3. They went 15-of-19 on free throws. They had 19 assists on 34 baskets. Four Kings players scored double-digit points.
