CN100 contractors Equans, Morgan Sindall, Seddon and Wates have joined a swathe of smaller firms to land places on a £2bn public sector housing framework.
A total of 66 contractors were appointed to the four-year Communities & Housing Investment Consortium (CHIC) framework, which is designed to help local authorities and social housing providers procure retrofit and building safety works for home improvement programmes.
The first lot under the framework, worth £650m, will see firms undertake consultancy services, including asset management consultancy, technical consultancy and technical design.
Works and services projects are under a second lot, valued at £950m, which is broken down into fabric first retrofit, mechanical and engineering retrofit, turnkey solution and building safety.
A third lot, worth a total of £400m, relates to digitalisation work, which is comprised of digital analytics and reporting platforms, and smart sensors.
The four big players were all allocated places under the second lot.
Most of the contractors chosen under the framework were SMEs. Bury-based Green Grant Installs, Truro firm Happy Energy Solutions and Harrogate-based Synergize were appointed to both the first and second lots.
London consultancy Parity Projects was selected for the first and third workstreams.
CHIC said the framework would deliver a diverse range of projects to enhance residential properties, improving the lives of tenants.
“It enables landlords to seamlessly execute retrofit energy efficiency solutions and property safety refurbishments,” it said.
The announcement follows the award earlier this year of places on CHIC housing framework worth over £3bn.
