Over the last month, USA TODAY High School Sports has looked at some of the best football prospects from the country’s recruiting hotbeds.
The series started with the best 2026 recruits out of Texas before heading to Florida, west to California, and east to Georgia.
This time, we’ll head just a bit west of Georgia. Here are the top 2026 recruits to keep an eye on from Alabama.
Cederian Morgan
School: Benjamin Russell (Alexander City)
Position: Wide Receiver
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Morgan led the Wildcats’ receiving corp last season, catching 70 passes for 1,162 yards and 14 touchdowns.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is a lean towards Auburn, but several SEC programs have remained active in his recruitment. He has official visits lined up to Colorado (May 9), Georgia (May 16), Clemson (May 30), Florida (June 6), Auburn (June 13) and Alabama (June 20).
Anthony Jones
School: St. Paul’s Episcopal (Mobile)
Position: EDGE
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Standing at 6-foot-3.5 and 240 pounds, Jones already looks like he terrorizes opposing SEC offenses.
A top-50 recruit nationally, Jones hasn’t named any official visits yet but has completed unofficial visits to Oregon (April 4) and Auburn (April 12).
Landon Duckworth
School: Jackson
Position: Quarterback
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Duckworth, a former South Carolina pledge, decommitted from the Gamecocks last June. Ole Miss quickly became the favorite after a few visits, but Duckworth remains undecided.
One of the nation’s top quarterback recruits, Duckworth, is narrowing in on a decision that could come following his official visits. He has trips scheduled to Georgia (May 30), South Carolina (June 6), Florida State (June 13), and Ole Miss (June 20).
Zyan Gibson
School: Gadsden City (Gadsden)
Position: Cornerback
Commitment: Alabama
Summary: Gibson, one of the few in-state recruits who had already committed, announced his pledge to Alabama last Christmas Eve. He’ll be back on campus on June 20 for his official visit.
Jaquez Wilkes
School: Wadley
Position: EDGE
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Auburn is in the driver’s seat to land not only one of the state’s best edge rushers but also one of the nation’s top defensive prospects. He’ll be back on campus on May 30 for an official visit after an unofficial visit a few weeks ago.
Vodney Cleveland
School: Parker (Birmingham)
Position: Defensive Lineman
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: This is another recruitment that appears to be going Auburn’s way, but Florida isn’t too far off. Cleveland will have official visits on May 16th (Auburn) and May 31st (Florida).
Cleveland’s junior season saw him account for 50 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Hezekiah Harris
School: Jemison (Huntsville)
Position: EDGE
Commitment: Auburn
Summary: Standing in at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Auburn landed a prospect with a ton of upside when Harris announced his commitment to the Tigers last July.
That commitment isn’t stopping him from taking official visits to other schools. Following his official visit to Auburn (May 30), Harris has trips scheduled to Florida (June 6), USC (June 13) and Tennessee (June 20).
Ezavier Cromwell
School: Jackson
Position: Running Back
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Cromwell was one of the most prolific backs in the country last season, rushing for 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns on 168 carries. That breakout season had several schools clamoring after him.
Alabama appears to be the front-runner in his recruitment. He has an official visit scheduled for Tuscaloosa on June 20. That will be his last official visit following trips to Texas (June 6), Auburn (June 13) and Florida State (June 15).
Marquez Daniel
School: Booker T. Washington (Tuskegee)
Position: Wide Receiver
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: It appears to be a two-horse race between Alabama and Florida to land Daniel. He has official visits to both, traveling to Auburn on June 6 and Florida a week later on June 13.
Last season, he caught 38 passes for 757 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Keeyun Chapman
School: Jackson
Position: Wide Receiver
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Chapman was one of the state’s best receivers last season, catching 51 passes for 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns. It also appears that he’ll be headed west for college ball.
USC is the heavy favorite in his recruitment, and the Trojans are the only team with which he has scheduled an official visit. He’ll head to Los Angeles on June 20.
