Cleveland fans won’t soon forget the Guardian’s epic walk-off Game 3 win over the Yankees on Thursday night, which was punctuated by monster home runs from Jhonkensy Noel and David Fry. But they don’t have much time to bask in the win with Game 4 Friday night and the Guardians still staring down a 2-1 series deficit.
Both starting pitchers will make their first postseason appearances — Lucas Gil for the Yankees (3.50 ERA in 151.2 innings this season) and Gavin Williams for the Guardians (4.86 ERA in 76 innings in 2024).
Do the Guardians have some more magic in them after Thursday night’s heroics? They’ve been solid at home this season, and have all the momentum coming off their Game 3 win. We’ll find out soon enough.
